Sadly, with the very wet weather expected Friday night, we have to do something we’ve never had to do — cancel Christmas on the Square. We’re truly sorry for the inconvenience, but with a 90% chance of rain, this is the safest and most responsible call for our community.
The good news is that Saturday looks clear, and the Angier Christmas Parade will move forward as planned. Lineup is 8:30–9:30am, and the parade begins at 10am. The route will start at Angier Baptist Church and Angier Elementary School, just like always, but this year it will end at Bulldog Hose Company, so please plan accordingly.
We’re also working to carry some pieces of Christmas on the Square into next Friday night’s Embers Christmas Concert with the Town of Angier. The Embers will be performing live, and thanks to the Town, this is the only holiday concert on their schedule that’s free to attend.
With the Embers concert, we’ll also be bringing the tree lighting and, hopefully, a few of our craft stations to the event. Christmas may look a little different this year, but we hope you’ll come out and celebrate with us.
We did look at rescheduling Christmas on the Square, but with so many moving parts — vendors, performers, volunteers, and venues — it just wasn’t possible to find a date that worked for everyone. The Angier Depot is also booked solid, which limited our options even more. It was a tough call, but one we had to make for our community.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to see you Saturday morning for the parade and next Friday night for a wonderful holiday concert.
