Events Happening this Weekend

Johnny White and the Elites will be at the Angier Depot tonight, May 19th,  at 7:00 pm. This concert is co sponsored by the Town of Angier and the North Carolina Arts Council and is free to the public.

The Unity Celebration being co sponsored by the Angier Chamber of Commerce and the North Carolina Arts Council is this Sunday, May 21st from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at the Angier Depot. Please come out for great entertainment along with many various vendors.

 

 

Stay Cool at the Angier Pool this Summer

The Angier Pool is now accepting new members! The pool will open on Memorial Day weekend and will stay open until Labor Day with members enjoying long pool hours seven days per week. While you’re there, you can rest assured that your safety is important to them! All  lifeguards on staff are Red Cross and CPR certified.  So, how do you obtain a membership? There are three methods to obtain a membership - 1) Buy membership directly from the pool and pay for the membership in full. 2) Buy membership from the pool and pay for it over the course of three years (a minimal service charge of $10.00 each year will apply) 3) Buy membership from a member who is selling their membership. (Please note that before the pool will accept any agreement of this type, the buyer of the membership and the buyer of the certificate must work with a designated Board member to coordinate the transaction). The membership fee is a one time fee of  $350.00 whether you chose to pay it upfront or split it up over the course of three years. The annual dues for 2017 are $360.00. Thanks to a grant by the North Carolina Arts Council, the Angier Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a Unity Celebration on Sunday, May 21st from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Depot Square/R.H. Central Carolina Community College will be having a massage therapy clinic in the summer. Clinic hours will be from 9:00 a.m until 2:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. on the following dates:

Connect @ Central Spring Edition

On Tuesday, May 16th, Harnett Central High School will host Connect @ Central, Spring Edition from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. This event is free and offers live music performances by the Steel Can Band, Anthony V., Trojan Squad, and many more. Harnett Central started this event last Spring as a way to bring school and community together for a night of food and fun. Five different food trucks will be onsite to offer great dinner options. Each department and club at Harnett Central will have a student showcase so that community members can see the amazing work the students do on a daily basis.

Gregory Vineyards to Host Art Show

There will be an art show this Saturday featuring artist Joe Byrd at Gregory Vineyards from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Joe is an award winning artist with works in private collections all over the world. Numerous awards have been presented to him for his demonstration of shadows with unique forms of light. Harnett County Schools Needs Your Help

Audra Allen DeSorbo, MEd School-to-Career Coordinator Career & Technical Education for Harnett County Schools needs your help. she is currently trying to find some local employers that would be willing to come and speak with some of their students at middle schools during the week of March 22-31 for the Students@Work Initiative. NCBCE Students@Work, is a job-shadowing and job-mentoring initiative, held by Gubernatorial Proclamation, which originated with the North Carolina Business Committee for Education in 2011. Working closely with the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (DPI), more than 128,000 eighth grade students have been impacted to date. The goal is to expose middle school students to career pathway options so they understand the potential for attainable jobs in their future and the clear relevance of what they are learning in their classrooms every day. Each Spring Anthem Church host a FREE yard sale. They collect donations and give them away for free to people & families in the Angier area who are struggling financially. They are looking for toys, tools, appliances, furniture, kitchenware, and clothing - stuff in good condition so that it is a blessing to those in need. Please message them if you'd like to make a donation. If you're donating clothing, please separate into men's, women's, and children's clothing. Books and household knick-knacks are not needed.

February Member of the Month

The Angier Chamber of Commerce member of the month for February is Uncommon Care. They are proudly located in Southeastern Wake County and have been here since April of 2009. Mark your calendars! Baseball and softball registration for the Town of Angier begins on Wednesday, February 15th. You can register at the Angier Town Hall from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Mark your calendars for these registration dates. The Harnett County Partnership for Children invites you to a Black Tie and Blue JeansChildren's Benefit on Friday, March 31st from 6:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m. at the Regency in Dunn.
