Giving Tuesday Right Around the Corner

Giving Tuesday is right around the corner. Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 28th and help the visually impaired in your community.

Support and Mobility Canes - $25.00
Each year, NCLI provides over 1,700 support and mobility canes FREE of charge to the visually impaired across the state.

Matching Funds - $75.00
Local Lions Clubs provide assistance for their local community members with the cost of purchasing glasses, exams, and surgeries. NCLI will cover half the cost by providing matching grants.

Camp Dogwood - $125.00
Each summer NCLI offers a space for the blind and visually impaired to have a "camp experience." Campers are asked to pay a small fee of $125.00 for their week's stay while the true cost to host a camper for the week is equal to $1,000.00. Help sponsor a camper for this upcoming summer.

Mobile Screening Unit - $150.00
With an average number of 6,000 individuals screened each year, the NCLI Mobile Screening Unit offers FREE vision and hearing screenings across the state. NCLI asks for clubs to pay a fee of $150.00 to host the mobile screening unit when the true cost to host a mobile screening unit is over $1,500.00.

Let the magic begin with a Kimberly’s Keepsake session on Saturday, November 18th from 9 am until 5 pm at Harnett Animal Welfare Coalition(HAWC) located at 309 West Duncan Street, Lillington. A portion of the proceeds will benefit HAWC.

Veterans Day Ceremony and Parade to be Held in Lillington

The Harnett County Veterans Council will hold its annual Veterans Day Ceremony Friday, November 10 at 11 a.m. at Veterans Memorial Park at 299 West Cornelius Harnett Blvd.,Lillington, beside the Harnett County Courthouse.

The annual Veterans Day Parade will begin at 2 p.m. The parade lineup will begin at 1 p.m. on 10th Street, and the parade route will go down West Front Street, turn onto South Main Street, and then onto West Lofton Street.

Harnett Central High School Vocal Ensemble to Host Fundraiser

The Harnett Central High School Vocal Ensemble will be having a barbecue chicken fundraiser and fall festival October 27th from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Angier Depot located at 19 West Depot Street, Angier. Plates will be sold beginning at 10 a.m. The fall festival will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tickets will be sold for various events, including games and a hayride. There also will be a 50/50 corn hole tournament. The entry fee is $10 per team.

Senior Health Expo this Thursday
The Angier Senior Citizen's Health Expo will take place on Thursday, October 19th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Angier Black River Fire Department. Vendors will be on hand to provide information on everything from healthcare to insurance. The event is open to residents age 55 and older and there is no admission charge.
 

Santa and Friends Need Your Help
