Small businesses in Angier will be participating in Pink Friday on November 22nd, a day for customers to shop with their local businesses a week before Black Friday.
Pink Friday is a designated day that encourages consumers to shop locally and support small businesses. The Pink Friday push to shop small is a chance for your small business to make noise in a cluttered landscape and reinforce the impact of small business on a community. Businesses that take part have the chance to increase sales, draw in new customers, and solidify their ties to the neighborhood.
Black Friday is the largest shopping day of the year, but the sales and promotions from big box stores often overshadow the experiences that small businesses are focused on providing. The goal on November 22nd is to celebrate the businesses that are the backbone of our local communities.
If you’re a member of the Angier Chamber of Commerce and your business plans on participating in this national movement, we want to hear from you so we can help you spread the word! We’d love to hear about any sales, promotions, giveaways, etc. that you’ll be doing that day.
Please note that the Chamber will supply members with a bouquet of pink balloons to place outside of their business to let the community know their business is participating in Pink Friday. We will come by the morning of the event to deliver them to you.
If your business will be participating, please plan to donate an item to the Pink Friday Giveaway Basket that the Chamber will put together. It will be raffled off on Monday, November 25th. For each purchase someone makes at your small business, you will give them a ticket to fill out to go into a drawing for the gift basket. No worries, the Chamber will supply the tickets. The Chamber Director will go around to the participating small business on Monday morning, November 25th to collect the tickets to combine all the tickets together for the drawing.
