Angier Chamber of Commerce
Ambassador Program

The Ambassadors Club is an outreach arm of the Angier Chamber of Commerce.  It is a club whose members share a desire to better the Angier community, both business and at large, through activities and efforts of the Angier Chamber of Commerce. Membership in the Club is voluntary and a privilege. The rewards of the Club membership and participation are mutually beneficial to the Chamber and the Club member.

Ambassadors cultivate Chamber members, active and new, through

  • Maintaining contact through outreach programs,

  • Providing feedback to the Chamber regarding the member needs,

  • Recommending improvements to Chamber operations and events to better serve the community, and

  • Bringing excitement and genuine interest to the welfare of Chamber member businesses and organizations.

The Ambassadors Club is organized with the following:

  • Ambassador Club Chairperson. This person is a member of the Angier Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. It is his or her responsibility to be a liaison between the Board, the Club, and the Chamber staff, to keep them informed of Club issues, and coordinate events support, budgetary matters, and feedback.

Duties and Opportunities for Ambassadors:

A Club member, by joining the Club, indicates his or her willingness to participate in as many Chamber events as possible. It is recognized that Club membership and participation requires voluntary time and effort from the Ambassador.  This contribution is greatly appreciated by the Chamber and the Chamber Board. Opportunities to serve are listed below, but may not reflect all that could be available during the year.

  • Ribbon Cuttings

  • Business After (or Before) Hours

  • Chamber Member of the Week visits

  • Ambassador meetings

  • Chamber functions, such as annual awards banquet, festivals (Bike Fest & Crepe Myrtle Celebration), golf tournament, Business Showcase, Monthly Breakfast Club, Christmas events, or other events scheduled throughout the year.

  • Business member visits

  • Membership drives, when applicable

Ambassador Recognition:

Ambassadors are a hard working, energetic group, who give of their time to assist the Chamber and business community.  A system has been devised to track Ambassador participation and provide opportunities of recognition for outstanding Ambassadors.  Each Club member will receive a name tag to wear to Chamber functions to identify them as an Ambassador.

Ambassador of the Year. Each year an Ambassador shall be identified as Ambassador of the Year based on their participation at Chamber functions and contributions to the Chamber and business community.  The recipient is honored at the Annual Awards Banquet and will be highlighted in Chamber correspondence (listed on the Chamber website, email blast to members, Angier Independent news article, FaceBook, etc.).  Once honored, the recipient is not eligible to win the award again within a 3-year period.  Other awards may be identified as the Club progresses. In which case, guidelines will be revised and all Ambassadors notified.

The Chamber staff will provide a sign in sheet at each Chamber function for Ambassadors to sign and serve as a recordkeeping identifier. The Chamber staff will keep track of this data and report recognition status to the Board. The Ambassador Chairperson is not eligible for any of these awards.

Ambassador Tenure:

Any member registered in the Club may remain a member for as long as he or she desires to do so. To remain in good standing, each Club member must participate in a minimum of 5 chamber events each year, in addition to attending monthly Club meetings.

Ambassador Club meets monthly. Scheduled meeting times will be determined and agreed upon by the participating members, the Chairperson, and the Chamber Executive Director noting a time which is convenient for the majority of the Club.

Meetings provide the venue for Ambassador feedback, suggestions, updates, and review of upcoming events.

Interested persons should call the Chamber for more information or to sign up to join the Ambassador Program.
